Today is Michael Jackson's 51th birthday. Thousands of Michael Jackson fans are dancing the rain away in a Brooklyn park at a celebration hosted by filmmaker Spike Lee.

The party marks what would have been the 51st birthday of the late pop star.
After a slow start amid heavy rain, a sizable crowd turned out at Brooklyn's Prospect Park to listen to a DJ spin Jackson's hits.

Many showed up wearing fedoras and T-shirts with Jackson's image. A few wore white gloves.

Lee directed two music videos for Jackson in 1996.
He told reporters, "I was just like everyone else. I loved his talent."

Breaking News: Chima is Expelled From ‘Big Brother 11'.The 33-year-old freelance journalist was booted from the CBS reality series "Big Brother 11," which isolates 13 contestants inside a makeshift two-story house and monitors their every move with cameras and microphones.As result Big Brother Producers removed her this past weekend.

The diva contestant, in a foul, expletive-spouting mood, refused direct orders to put a microphone on, in an episode aired Tuesday. When a housemate retrieved a microphone and handed it to her, Simone tossed it into a whirlpool spa.

After showing a "greatest hits" reel of bad behavior from Simone's time in the home, CBS showed her the door.
"Because of multiple rule violations, she needed to be expelled," said Allison Grodner, executive producer.

“You will see why, basically, our back was up against the wall and we had to expel her from the game,” show host Julie Chen said Monday on CBS’ “The Early Show,” which she co-hosts. “You will see her behavior that led up to the expulsion. Then, you can decide.”

CBS released a statement Saturday that said Simone, from West Hollywood, Calif., was evicted by the producers for violating the rules. The network said also that Simone will not be part of the reality shows seven-person jury, which selects the $500,000 grand prize winner.

Sunday’s episode revealed how irritated Simone was because her ally, bodybuilder Jessie Godderz, was spontaneously nominated for eviction Thursday because of the “coup d’etat,” a power secretly voted on by viewers that was used to overthrow Simone’s nominations.

Fans have questioned whether Simone was booted or quit. Chatter from the remaining seven house guests suggest she wanted out of the house. On Friday, Simone was seen on the show’s live Internet video feeds throwing her microphone into the backyard whirlpool spa.

“She still didn’t have to leave after that. She just didn’t want to be here,” contestant Natalie Martinez said on Monday’s “Big Brother After Dark,” an uncensored and unedited live Showtime 2 broadcast of what’s happening inside the house each night.

Lou Manza, who heads the psychology department at Lebanon Valley College in Annville, Pa., said Simone’s physical outburst was enough to merit dismissal from the house, especially because contestants can’t communicate with friends or family during filming.

“If someone is throwing their microphone in a hot tub, they’re breaking down,” Manza said. “You’re removed from your social support, so there’s no way of coping. What else could happen later? Things could get much uglier much quicker if you don’t respond.”

Manza said because the house guests can’t blow off steam as they would outside the “Big Brother” house — say by going for a jog, reading or watching TV — it’s easier for participants to reach their boiling point and take frustrations out on the production.

Since entering the house last month, Simone has been one of the season’s most defiant house guests. When she was nominated for eviction during the first week, CBS censored her live last-plea speech, which referred to derogatory terms used by her competitor.

Last week, Simone sparred with house guest Russell Kairouz, saying the Lebanese-American mixed martial arts fighter was a “terrorist because you’re terrorizing everybody in the house.” Kairouz retaliated by calling Simone, who is African-American, “the true racist.”

Producers have evicted two contestants on previous “Big Brother” editions. Justin Sebik was kicked off the second season when he placed a knife to the throat of a fellow house guest. Scott Weintraub was removed from the fourth season after throwing furniture.

Her stop in Warsaw fell not only a day before her birthday, but also on the August 15, the Roman Catholic holiday celebrating the heavenly assumption of the Virgin Mary — timing that angered some Catholics.

Several people who objected to Madonna held up banners outside the concert venue, and a Catholic group tried to spearhead protests in past weeks hoping to force the Material Girl to change the date of the concert. It failed, however, to win support from the official church or the public. Though Poland, homeland of the late John Paul II, is mainly Catholic, young urban Poles have overwhelmingly embraced pop culture and mores.

During the concert, Madonna also paid tribute to Michael Jackson, who died in June.

Madonna concert Stage collapses- one dead

Madonna's "Sticky and Sweet" stage set collapsed Thursday in Marseille, France.Technicians were setting up the stage at the Velodrome stadium in Marseille when the accident occurred at around 5:15 p.m. local time (11:15 a.m. EST).

The roof at the Stade Velodrome stadium fell apart on top of several workers.One worker was killed and two were injured in very serious condition, said Maurice Di Nocera, Marseille city councilor in charge of major events, said on France-Info radio.

The four other injured fractured bones, he said. All of the injured were taken to local hospitals.

He said the roof had been about two-thirds complete and that it collapsed gradually on top of several workers.

"Since it did not collapse right away, that allowed several people to get out, to avoid being hit," he said.

The cause of the roof collapse was not clear. Police and emergency officials cordoned off the area.

Madonna's "Sticky & Sweet" tour was due to arrive in Marseille on Sunday, but the concert was canceled because "rebuilding a stage, it's not possible," Di Nocera said.

Unknown sources over at Def Jam are talking up Rihanna's latest musical venture, remaining pretty hush hush over the specifics but tickling the world's balls with some killer info about the album.

Ri's working with a whole gang of collaborators: Kanye West, Justin Timberlake, Soulja Boy, Jay-Z and Pharrell Williams, just to name a few!

The album will reportedly be a complete change in sound for the Princess, with more rock and pop notes than the last album. Ri's apparently been extremely particular about song choice for the album and has been slaving over the lyrics and melodies, those of which sources at Def Jam are saying will "mark the spirits forever."

There are also said to be a number of duets on the album, one of which was apparently to be with Chris Brown but was quickly canned after, well.. you know.

With a mass of other contestants lining up to juggle, spin, dance, sing and hip-hop their way into the hearts of the judges and America, one of the stand-outs so far this season is Kentucky’s Kevin Skinner.

As soon as chicken catcher Kevin Skinner began his cover of a Garth Brooks song, it was clear "America's Got Talent" had found its Susan Boyle.Despite his humble background, this contestant's genuine performance won over the crowd and judges, even getting a standing ovation from the Hoff as Skinner scored his ticket to Las Vegas.

With a guitar in hand and a simple Garth Brooks song, Skinner wowed the audience with his rendition of “If Tomorrow Never Comes”. The heartfelt song was sung smoothly and with feeling that moved the judges. There was no loud music in the background; no big fanfare or fancy outfits - just simple Skinner and his country voice.

Skinner told AGT that he is “Just a good ol’ country boy who likes to hunt and fish…I feel a lot of emotion right now, ya know. After years of trying it’s just all coming together.”

The three Judges of 'So You Think You Can Dance',Mary Murphy, Nigel Lythgoe and Tyce Diorio shared their thoughts behind the decision with FOX News. Here is their say to Fox news:

Mary Murphy: “God that’s a good question isn’t it. It was really close. I can just say that when we stood there and looked at all three of the girls at least for me that I saw three very strong, powerful female dancers. You know what Caitlin has fought back with, hip surgery, to come this far is really nothing short of a miracle. You know I think the other two girls just edged her out like I said tonight the Bollywood number was their strongest number. It’s very difficult when you come out and that very first week and you just explode on to that dance stage and then where do you go from there and so was there anything that they did bad or horrible absolutely not but it didn’t have the same zest as that very first week and so I think they really had to fight after that you know. It’s, it, it is a struggle when you do something so fabulous you know what I mean. You’re just like oh my God how’s the next one going to be. You know but they, you know they’re going to be on tour.”

Nigel Lythgoe: “Just that we thought that let me start with Phillip. Phillip is absolutely unique at what he does but we haven’t really been enthusiastic about anything he’s done in any other genre of dance. Thought his jive last night was, was probably the best he’s done but the other two boys we thought were even stronger and that’s what we always go for, for the positive side of it. Caitlin again it was the two people she was up against tonight you know. They were outstanding in their solos and, and Caitlin just paled a little bit in comparison.”

Tyce Diorio: “Caitlin and Phillip well I think looking at the whole pack of them you have to in my position just look and see who is going to have, who has the potential for incredible growth versus just who’s really good. I mean Phillip’s got a great solo but I just in my opinion I don’t know that there would have been that much growth in the styles to come where I think some of the other dancers were you can really see and it’s evident that they will, they have so much potential for vast growth. Caitlin great they’re beautiful dancer, beautiful. All the elements are in place but I think she’s plays it safe. I don’t know that she has all of the, the tools in her bag to really take it to another level and at this point it’s competition and they have to take it to another level. Both great dancers you know both of them. Someone’s got to go home yeah.”

Watson told a news conference on Thursday that the scene was filmed two weeks ago.The kiss happens in the seventh and final book of Harry potter named "Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows."The final book, "Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows," is being split into two films and it remains unknown which of the final two movies contains the kiss.

"Rupert and I were quite nervous that it might look ingenuous as we were so desperate to get it over with," Watson, 19, said. "Rupert and I felt the pressure of this kiss, there's so much interest."

"This is 10 years worth of tension and hormones and chemistry and everything in one moment. We had to ace it," said Watson. "Kissing is awkward, kissing is always awkward.""It's not something we were really looking forward to," said 20-year-old Grint. "It was quite a strange thing to have to think about doing."

In a poll conducted by online ticket seller Fandango.com , 59 percent of fans said the on-screen kiss they most want to see is between Hermione and Ron.

FOX News.com spoke to Dr. Howard Nearman, department chairman of anesthesia at University Hospitals Case Medical Center in Ohio, about the drug.

"Using this drug for insomnia is sort of like using a shotgun to kill an ant," Nearman said. "How someone could get a hold of this medication — and use it for the purpose that he allegedly used it for — is just incredible.”

That rehearsal could be released as the King of Pop's final album. The rehearsals at the Staples Center in Los Angeles were taped by concert promotion company AEG Live to produce an album and DVD of what Jackson had billed his "final performance" tour called "This Is It," according to Sharon Waxman of the Hollywood blog TheWrap.com.

Jackson had failed to appear at many of the scheduled rehearsals in Los Angeles over the past two months, but he was there for an "electric" full rehearsal on the night before his death.

Retailers like Amazon.com and Barnes and Noble have reportedly sold out of Jackson goods in the days after his death.

Patrick Woodroffe, a lighting designer for the concerts, watched the final rehearsal, he told the BBC.

"We had rehearsed for the last couple weeks. We put together a complicated show, quite a spectacular show," Woodroffe said.

She had earlier adopted one boy from the same country.

A high Malawian court has ruled that Madonna can adopt a second child from the country, overturning a lower court's decision preventing the queen of pop from bringing home 3-year-old Chifundo "Mercy" James.

The lower court had denied her to adopt Mercy, arguing that Madonna was no longer married and being a single mother, had no right to adopt.

Is Adam Lambert going to next american idol? Now he is a famous star and may be he is going to the next american idol. But Since American Idol’s eighth season kicked off in January, audiences have been fixated on charismatic Adam Lambert, a contestant unlike any the show has seen in its run. His reworkings of songs like Johnny Cash’s “Ring of Fire” were seductively imaginative (like ‘em or hate ‘em), and though his creative adventurousness recalled last season’s victor David Cook, Lambert boasted two new qualities for Idol: star power and a certain unknowability. “There’s a ‘boy who fell to Earth’ quality about him, like David Bowie’s Lady Stardust come to life,” Rob Sheffield writes in our current issue.

So how did Lambert, who was favored for the win and captured the fascination of a nation, lose the competition? (We noted there were five ways he could go wrong.) Was it song choice, confidence, the impact of Danny Gokey’s voting block? Perhaps other factors influenced the vote — there have certainly been an assortment of ugly statements left in our comments section — but we’ll focus solely on the performance, rather than outside politics surrounding the final two singers. (Also see What’s Next for Adam Lambert and look back at his Idol run in photos.)

• Too little rock, too late

Lambert blew viewers’ minds — and recruited unlikely classic-rock fans — with his throat-shredding renditions of Led Zeppelin’s “Whole Lotta Love” and Steppenwolf’s “Born to Be Wild.” But as we feared, he held back on the rock & roll histrionics on Tuesday’s final performance show, opting instead for the understated “Mad World.” When he took the stage with Kiss at the finale, he was clearly in the zone, but audiences didn’t get a glimpse of that spectacle the night the votes were tallied.

• An early and often judges’ favorite

Being the judges’ pet doesn’t always pay off. As David Archuleta learned last year, earning praise week after week might be instantly rewarding, but it ultimately mobilizes opposing singers’ fanbases to hit the phones. Everyone gets out the vote for the underdog, but the leader sometimes falls behind in the votes. Adam was strong and steady throughout the competition while Kris grew with each week — a quality that appeals to voters who like to feel ownership over a young star’s rise.

• An extreme persona, but Idol skews conservative

Idol isn’t afraid to embrace an innovator like Cook, but the show overall tends to reflect the tastes of a majority of its audience — past winners Kelly Clarkson, Carrie Underwood, Taylor Hicks, Ruben Studdard et al. were all understated in appearance and performance. Lambert, however, had an extreme stage persona and a wilder taste for rock & roll fashion. While he remained upbeat and down to earth in his interviews, his otherworldly onstage presence may have turned off as many viewers as it attracted.

• Handcuffed by final three song selection

Because he was known for turning songs into spectacles, Lambert was at a disadvantage Tuesday night by the coronation song “No Boundaries,” which he couldn’t rework or rock out. Show creator Simon Fuller chose soulful selections for both Lambert and Allen, which didn’t play to Adam’s vocal strength. So he had only one shot — his own pick — to demonstrate his true artistry.

• Kris performed strong all season long

Kris Allen is a gifted vocalist and arranger, and while he didn’t instantly stand out in the Idol pack, he worked hard to keep his performances creative and forge an emotional connection with the audience. His version of “She Works Hard for the Money” and “Ain’t No Sunshine” were two of the season’s best, and he struck a chord with a diverse swath of fans.

“There is nothing more valuable to the health of an eight-year-old TV series than a surprise, and for American Idol, it rarely happens. But once in a very long while, someone arrives who doesn’t just dominate American Idol, but challenges and even changes it. And that has happened with the current season’s contestant Adam Lambert. With his mop of glam-rock cobalt-blue-on-dyed-black hair, his hearing, his sneering, and his unambiguously ambiguous sexuality, Adam would have probably been brushed off early on. And there was also a time, more recently, when Adam would have made it to Hollywood but been dismissed as “too Broadway” or “too musical theater.”

Then in walked this 27-year-old from San Diego, a chameleon of a singer who was unashamedly everything that the Fox reality show thought America didn’t want. And he flattened the competition. He has been able to morph from a quasi-punk whom the judges accused of being “like something out of Rocky Horror” to a Rat Pack sharpie to a grown-up crooner. Other contestants who have tried this on Idol routinely get accused of lacking identity.

There’s always been a fracture between how you succeed on Idol and how you succeed beyond Idol once you enter a world in which being the cookie-cutter product of a network series is a liability. But Adam has taken a battering ram to that aesthetic. And he’s doing so while playing out the big issue – the gay question – with a complicated mixture of caution and shrewdness. Though Adam is widely assumed to be gay, the most he would say to EW about the public scrutiny is “I know who I am. I’m an honest guy, and I’m just going to keep singing.”

Now the question is whether an openly gay contestant can win American Idol? The question is being considered everywhere from fan blogs to The New York Times – but we’re still one openly gay contestant short of a test case. Adam’s sexuality offers a fascinating challenge to the show’s status quo. Is Idol ready for a gay winner? Possibly. After all, its British forebear Pop Idol crowned a contestant, Will Young, who came out shortly after he won. And Idol itself came close when Clay Aiken, then closeted but somebody who even house plants surmised was gay, finished second. But is Idol ready for this gay(ish) winner? Perhaps not. Clay, after all, never sang “I’m gonna give you every inch of my love” while wearing skintight pants and green glitter guyliner.

Unlike his counterparts, who commodify their lives on their sleeves, Adam isn’t talking about it. Maybe it’s still too costly to say who you are. It’s certainly costly not to. Does he feel he can’t? Does the show feel he shouldn’t? Is his choice personal or strategic? Will it pay off? And does any of this represent progress?

Last Titanic Survivor helped by Leonardo DiCaprio and Kate Winslet

The last survivor of the sinking of the Titanic in 1912 is getting a hand from Leonardo DiCaprio and Kate Winslet.

The "Titanic" stars, along with director James Cameron, have contributed to a $30,000 fund for Millvina Dean, 98, Access Hollywood has confirmed.

The Irish Independent was the first to report the news.

The stars came forward after an appeal by photographer Don Mullan in the Sunday edition of the paper. Mullan had asked the stars and director of 1997 blockbuster to help Millvina, who has struggled with her nursing home bills.

Millvina was the ill-fated ship's youngest passenger - only nine weeks old upon being carried unto the Titanic from Southampton, England - and is now its last remaining survivor.

The photographer had been selling a limited edition shot, entitled "Still Surviving," of Millvina's hands signing an autograph in order to raise funds for her, and decided to reach out to the "Titanic" stars to pitch in. The photo is part of a new exhibition of his called "A Thousand Reasons for Living."

"I figured that if the edition sold out, it would secure Millvina for a full year. My plan, however, was to double the impact and thereby secure her for two years. I decided, therefore, at the opening of the exhibition, to publicly challenge James Cameron, Leonardo DiCaprio, Kate Winslet, 20th Century Fox and Celine to match me dollar for dollar,'' Don told the Independent.

He is still waiting on a response from Celine, who won an Oscar for the film's theme song, "My Heart Will Go On," and the film's studio, 20th Century Fox.

In Touch is reporting that Brad and Jennifer got together on April 23rd, and they even have a location and Brad’s “confession” that he and Angelina aren’t working, and he doesn’t know what to do. Which I suppose is an allusion to Brad getting back with Jennifer?
What is the proof of all of this? Brad and Jennifer are apparently wearing “the same” necklace. In Touch claims that Jennifer gave him the “antique pendant” for his 45th birthday this past December, but they also include a picture of Jennifer wearing the same necklace. Way to re-gift, Aniston. Does this mean that Jennifer gave Brad her necklace, and he’s wearing it, or vice versa? Or does this mean that the necklace was mass-produced, and Brad and Jennifer have the same taste in jewelry? Or does it mean Brad + Jennifer = true love forever!

“He arrived on the opposite end of the set from where Jen’s trailer was, and Jen snuck into his car. They drove around New York City together, talking,” according to a friend of the former couple. “Brad confessed his feelings to Jen,” the friend says.

“He told her that he is trying to make his relationship with Angelina work, but it is failing.”

After about an hour, Brad dropped Jen off at The Greenwich Hotel and drove away. The meeting had been something they’d been organizing for weeks.

Ugh, what is there even to say about this stuff? Maybe Brad and Jennifer did meet. They both claim to still keep in touch, but they’re never very specific about how often, or if they actually have face-to-face meetings. Is it just me, or is this report rather sad on several different levels? On face value, it’s sad that Brad is so out of sorts because Angelina is working on her first film after taking more than a year off to have and raise his children. It’s sad to think that Brad is so ambivalent about Angelina and their six children. Is Brad really so wishy-washy? Star Trek 2009: 81% of Online Ticket are sold for Star Trek

Fandango reports that Star Trek is currently selling 81% of all its online tickets. With JJ Abram's reimagining of the veteran franchise opening around 7 PM Thursday night, the pic has sold out more than 100 opening weekend show times across the country. In the Los Angeles area alone, Thursday night screenings keep being added. The Bridge has a total of 15 screenings tomorrow, starting as early as 7:10 PM, plus three screenings in their IMAX theater starting at 7 PM.

MovieTickets.com says 44% of all its Star Trek ticket sales are for IMAX screenings. The movie will open for a limited 2-week run in 134 IMAX theatres domestically on Thursday. The film will also open in 29 IMAX theatres internationally.

There are also some interesting polls. MovieTickets.com found that, among almost 6,000 moviegoers, 32% have never seen a Star Trek movie, while 10% have seen all 10 Star Trek movies.

Fandango surveyed more than 4,000 moviegoers planning to see Star Trek and found: 83% plan to see the movie on opening weekend; 10% plan to show up at the theater in some kind of Star Trek costume; 48% are fans of producer-director JJ Abrams; 47% are fans of Heroes star Zachary Quinto; and 67% are male. Here is my power ranking of the remaining contestants. If you disagree with my ranking, by all means use the comments area to share your own.This is my perception of the a given singer's potential to win the competition. It's not my personal ranking.

1. (Last week: 1) Adam Lambert (Hollywood, Calif.) — Don't let his placement in the bottom three this week fool you -- his fans will rally and make sure it doesn't happen again. It is interesting to note, though, that neither David Cook nor David Archuleta were ever in the bottom two or three last season (until the final three)

2. (2) Kris Allen (Little Rock, Ark.) — In a very strong week for Idol, he may have had the weakest performance on Rat Pack night -- but it was still pretty good. It will be interesting to see what he chooses for rock week. Given his creative song choices and arrangements in past weeks, I'm expecting something really cool.

3. (3) Allison Iraheta (Los Angeles) — Rock is her thing so she ought to kill on Tuesday night. Stand back!

4. (4) Danny Gokey (Milwaukee, Wis.) — I still say he had the best performance of Rat Pack night, and he really needed it to solidify his chances to actually win the whole thing.

But now Susan Boyle has told show bosses that she would like to start her singing career and earn cash in the US before the end of the show.

Susan Boyel, dubbed Hairy Angel, is not allowed to perform on any other show until Britain's Got Talent has finished, but her friends and relatives have told her to talk to the TV chiefs about letting her start her career.

A friend of Boyle's said that the singer is on the verge of ripping up her contract and going it alone, as she fears that she may be missing out on millions by not cashing in on her fame now. "The chance of earning serious money doesn't come often and now it's in danger of slipping away," the Daily Star quoted one of her friends as saying.

The Scottish singer has to wait almost five weeks before she next appears on the programme, and her ultimatum demanding the right to make money immediately from a record or a tour will throw the show into chaos.

"Finally she has the chance to show the whole world her amazing talent but she isn't being allowed to," Boyle's brother John, 59, raged.

"When Susan signed a contract tying her to Britain's Got Talent before her audition, no-one could have predicted what a phenomenon she would become. The normal rules don't apply any more, and I think Simon Cowell knows it too. This is a unique situation and needs a unique solution - and soon," he added.

Recently i came to know that No Doubt and DAUGHTRY are going to sing at 'American Idol'."American Idol" viewers will soon enjoy live performances from No Doubt and DAUGHTRY as those bands have been confirmed to sing at the hit reality TV show. They will take the Idol stage on Wednesday, May 6 during its result show.

The Chris Daughtry-fronted band are set to perform "No Surprise", the lead single off their upcoming but not-yet-titled album, at the Ryan Seacrest-hosted show. But, there are no words just yet on what song will be performed by Gwen Stefani and her friends.

As for No Doubt, the band will be hitting the road with Paramore, starting on May 16 in Las Vegas aside from their scheduled performance at "American Idol". In addition, they are cooking up new materials for their new album just like what DAUGHTRY are doing in the meantime.

Will Sing: Adam hasn’t said “no” to a high note yet, and the glory notes in the chorus of the Alicia Bridges classic “I Love the Nightlife (Disco ‘Round)” are going to prove irresistible to him and his rabid fanbase.

Should Sing: We prefer when Adam’s wails are reserved for songs with substance. Why not tackle “Band of Gold” — a Motown tune later covered by disco drag star Sylvester — and show “Idol” fans that the song doesn’t only belong to season-two divas Frenchie Davis and Kimberley Locke?

Allison Iraheta

Will Sing: We doubt the 16-year-old rocker has that much disco on her iPod, so it’s likely she’ll be picking from the song list blind. When she sees Donna Summer’s “Bad Girls” on the list, she’ll probably think, “That sounds like a badass rock song.” If only …

Should Sing: Since Allison and disco go together as well as Kara DioGuardi and numbers, we beg Allison to check out a Kate Bush cover by Italian disco revivalists the Chromatics. “Running Up That Hill” provides a fantastic opportunity for our fave to purr a midtempo burner piano-side and have a big moment. Will Sing: It’s only a matter of time before Anoop the Party Animal returns to the “Idol” stage, and how can he not do an uptempo number on Disco Night? Therefore, expect the crowd-pleaser to pick the “Idol” staple “Turn the Beat Around” by Vickie Sue Robinson.

Should Sing: Anoop needs to find a disco song with a smooth R&B flavor. Earth, Wind & Fire’s “Let’s Groove” lets the Usher wannabe have fun yet be cool at the same time. Plus, if his less-than-reliable falsetto isn’t in tip-top shape, he can let the background singers do the heavy lifting while he riffs on the chorus.

Danny Gokey

Will Sing: Danny loves being the center of attention. And “Idol” loves giving him huge production numbers. If he sings the Trammps’ “Disco Inferno,” he can do lots of silly disco choreography while the producers can use that fire background they love shoving down our throats. Let’s just hope “Idol” keeps their golden child to the time requirement. Who needs the full 10 minutes of that song? Especially with the Hokey Gokey croaking it?

Should Sing: I know I often criticize Danny for referencing his deceased wife, but if he sang Harold Melvin and the Blue Notes’ “The Love I Lost” (and cherry-picked the second verse, which is more lyrically appropriate for his situation), I wouldn’t hold it against him. His voice would suit the song wonderfully.

Kris Allen

Will Sing: This is a toughie. Who knows what the guitar-playin’ heartthrob guitar will settle on? He surprised us last week with a fantastic contemporary song, so perhaps he’ll look to more recent disco artists like LCD Soundsystem and Daft Punk. In fact, Daft Punk’s “Digital Love” has a fun melody and a cute lovey-dovey lyric that would drive his fans wild.

Should Sing: Hell, we hate to sway any contestant away from a song released in this decade, but if “Digital Love” doesn’t work out, we think he could turn Thelma Houston’s “Don’t Leave Me This Way” into a heartbreaking guitar-based rock song and keep his winning streak alive.

Lil Rounds

Will Sing: The judges expected perfection from Lil during Motown Week, so they’ll expect even bigger things from the “diva of the season” on Disco Night. And after last week’s Simon tongue-lashing, Lil’s going to look to one of the most famous disco vocalists ever and sing Donna Summer’s “Last Dance,” which we think (or hope) will end up being an appropriate swan song.

Should Sing: Amii Stewart’s “Knock on Wood” is one of the “Idol” Death Songs. Every contestant who has tried it has ended up in the bottom group or eliminated. Sorry, Lil, but we think your time has come and want to ensure our fave Allison gets to the finals. So do us a favor and sing “Knock on Wood.” You’ll do a great job! Ahem.

Matt Giraud

Will Sing: Carl Carlton’s “Everlasting Love” appears every time “Idol” does disco. And while the recently saved contestant might be inspired to sing Gloria Gaynor’s “I Will Survive” or the Bee Gees’ “Stayin’ Alive” given his cockroach-like ability to stay on this mother-lovin’ show, we think he’ll ultimately be swayed by Carlton’s sing-songy melody, which was recently covered by fellow piano man Jamie Cullum.

Susan Powter (born 12 December 1957) is a motivational speaker, dietitian, personal trainer and author of Australian birth, who rose to fame in the 1990s with her catch phrase "Stop the Insanity!"

Life

Powter was born in Sydney, Australia in 1957. Twice married, she described herself to Curve magazine in 2004 as a "radical feminist lesbian woman".

Career

Television

In 1994, Powter starred in her own talk-show style television program called The Susan Powter Show. On the show she and guests discussed nutrition and fitness as well as other topics.

Motivational speaker and dietitian

Advocate of a whole-foods, organic, low-fat diet, and regular cardiovascular and strength-training exercise, Powter set herself apart from other dietitians by condemning the diet industry as a whole. Her platinum-white flat-top haircut and aggressive manner of speaking became an iconic element of her celebrity.

Author and blogger

Powter is author of several books, three of which became New York Times best-sellers in the 1990s. In 2002, she returned to writing with The Politics of Stupid, a stream-of-consciousness, self-published manifesto encouraging women to take control of their brains and bodies from food manufacturers, corrupt governments, and fitness/diet industries.

Powter's website reported that she would host a radio show beginning in May 2006 and a cooking show entitled Taste My Broth within the year. She also puts out The Monthly Flow, a subscription-based multi-media e-zine.

In November 2007, Powter re-launched her fitness and and wellness blog.

Powter was featured in the May 28, 2007 episode of The Simple Life: Goes to Camp to help motivate participants in a fitness camp.

She appeared in an episode of The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air, entitled "Will Steps Out."

She was also in the first episode of Space Ghost Coast to Coast and she was talking about the world with Space Ghost. A clip from this interview was used again on Coast to Coast, in the last episode of the series.

In "State of Play", McAdams plays Della Frye, a blogger for a newspaper in Washington, D.C. She’s hot on the trail of a scandal involving politician Stephen Collins (played by Ben Affleck), a married congressman exposed for having an affair with a female subordinate who dies mysteriously on a train track. Della often clashes with her co-worker Cal McCaffrey (played by Russell Crowe), an "old school" journalist who happens to be a friend of Stephen’s. Cal also gets involved in the investigation, and the two reporters team up to get to the bottom of the story. McAdams recently
